Telluride Air and Lodging Update: March 15 – 21

LODGING UPDATE Spring Break visitation is starting to wind down, with occupancy shifting from the 70% range last week to a 56% average total occupancy over the next two weeks, a 2% YOY decrease. Pace remains behind or flat to 2023 next week and then bumps up ahead of last season’s occupancy on March 23, most likely due to the Easter holiday week. Occupancy will peak on March 28, currently pacing at 63%. The last week of the ski season is significantly ahead YOY due to the mountain staying open through the first week of April. Average occupancy from March 31 – April 7 is currently at 30%.    Looking ahead to summer, total destination occupancy is pacing 5% ahead of 2023 at 26%, paid occupancy is 4% lower, and average daily rate (ADR) is 6% behind. May, July, August and October are pacing ahead YOY, and June and September are slightly behind.

AIR UPDATE March continues to pace just behind last year, with the same for winter overall. The early weeks of the month are the largest, while still down a few points from the last two years, and up a a few points over 2019-20 YTD. Easter week and the following final week in April are up significantly, while on slightly smaller numbers overall. Let’s power through the finish! The summer schedule is now live. Highlights include all mainline (big) jets on the MTJ-Denver route, an earlier start to Houston and Chicago before Memorial Day, larger mainline jets from DFW, and the addition of Dallas Love-Field with Southwest on Saturdays.
