Telluride PEAK SHEET: December 15 – 21

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK  

What a wonderful surprise to wake up to this morning! 9″ of powder has Telluride and Mountain Village looking beautiful. Not only has the fresh snow made things look extra-festive, but it’s also helped the Telluride Ski Resort open more terrain! Runs off of Lift #5 are now open, and Bon Vivant and Alpino Vino open for the season tomorrow. Plus, town side access and Lift #10 are slated to open before the holidays. Think snow!

There is plenty of holiday entertainment this weekend, starting with the Telluride Theatre’s Dufreign Family Holiday Spectacular at the Michael D. Palm Theatre from Friday through Sunday, Santa Sleigh Rides at the Schmid Family Ranch Dec. 17-23 and the Holiday Maker’s Market at the Madeline from Friday to Sunday. 
 
Telluride Arts HQ has also transformed into a winter wonderland with several exciting events this week, including local live music tonight, a Hanukah Party on Friday, Pajama Movie Night on Saturday, and so much more. A full schedule can be found here. 

If you’re not feeling festive quite yet, you can still enjoy plenty of live entertainment around town. Mind Blown is back at the Peaks on December 15, The Young People’s Theater is taking over the Sheridan Opera House with performances of “Aladdin” Friday through Sunday, and you can enjoy two skiing movies at the Sheridan Opera House: Teton Gravity Research’s “Legend Has It” on Tuesday and Warren Miller’s “All Time” on Thursday. 

The Town of Mountain Village is also hosting its sixth annual Mountain Munchkins Family Date Night on Friday at the Telluride Conference Center, which will feature a bouncy castle, ski pass raffle, silent auction, appetizers and a holiday movie screening. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under and the proceeds benefit Mountain Munchkins.
