Via Telluride Tourism Board
If you’re craving a little Telluride winter magic, you’re not alone. We caught another sneak-peek of the Aurora Borealis this week—basically nature’s way of saying, “Keep the snow dances coming.” While the mountain is skiing great right now, we’re all collectively hoping for that extra storm cycle that helps the terrain fully open (so yes… please continue embarrassing your family with interpretive snow choreography).
And if your dance moves are better suited to a real dance floor (or a bar with great acoustics), you’re in luck—this week is packed with live music, local happenings, and community-centered events that remind us why Telluride isn’t just a destination… it’s a vibe.
As always, Mountain Rose Realty keeps you connected to the lifestyle that makes Telluride Real Estate so special—because buying (or selling) in a mountain town is never just about the property. It’s about the moments, the energy, and the community you’re stepping into. And yes, we’ll work the market strategy too—Anne-Britt Ostlund does not play when it comes to protecting your position in telluride real estate.
What’s Happening in Telluride This Week (January 22–28)
Northern Lights… Skier’s delight? We got a little glimpse of the Aurora Borealis again this week and we’re hoping that it means we have some winter magic on the way. While the mountain is skiing great right now, we would love for you to keep those snow dances up so the mountain can fully open! Thanks in advance for your dance moves.
If you prefer to keep your dance moves on the dance floor, there is a plethora of live music this week around town. Club Red kicks off its winter concerts with Gavin DeGraw on Thursday, followed by Andy Frasco & the U.N. on Friday with more to come! At the Sheridan Opera House, catch Drew Emmitt, John Cowan and Eli Emmitt on Thursday, Harlem Quartet on Saturday, and Dry January at the SHOW Bar on Wednesday night. Local DJs will be tearing down the house at The Alibi this weekend, with DJ Castle on Friday night, and DJ Wombat on Sunday night, and be sure to check out Durango band YOPE on Thursday night. Plus, don’t miss out on the Telluride Gold Kings at the Sheridan Historic Bar on Thursday, Bass Camp on Friday at Tomboy Tavern and the start of SpringSing Rehearsals on Sunday (be sure to sign up if you are interested in participating).
Other notable events include Mind Blown on Friday and Saturday, a free wine tasting at the Mountain Village Wine Merchant on Wednesday, and Mental Health in the Mountains on Monday at the Telluride Science and Innovation Center. The Wilkinson Public Library and the Ah Haa School for the Arts also have a full slate of events, be sure to check those out as well!

Local Business Support & Community Offerings
During this moment in Telluride, our small businesses are showing what this community has always been about. Supporting local shops, restaurants, guides, and makers right now isn’t just about commerce; it’s about sustaining the people who give Telluride its soul.
If you’re able and looking to support local businesses during this time (and get some great deals and specials yourself!), here are helpful community links to explore:
- Telluride community resources: https://telluride.gov/community-resources
- Telluride Foundation “Good Neighbor Fund” resources: https://telluridefoundation.org/community-resources/good-neighbor-fund/
And if you’re newer to town (or just want to plug in more intentionally), consider this your gentle nudge: shop one more local stop, book the guide, grab dinner in-town, tip generously, and keep the Telluride magic circulating.
