WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK
Leaf-peeping season is upon us! The leaves are changing daily and we can’t wait to see what peak season looks like this year. If you want to stay updated with the colors, please check out our updates here or our webcam page here.
A great event that coincides with the colors, the Telluride Autumn Classic, starts tomorrow and runs through the weekend. Check out the cool cars at all of their events or head to their Fine Arts Festival in Heritage Plaza (or do both!). Following that event, Corvettes & Colors will be taking over town from Monday through Wednesday.
Those who like to indulge in good food and wine have several tasty options this week! Eliza Gavin has a food and wine pairing class on Friday at 221 South Oak, Altezza at The Peaks will be hosting a summer wine tasting with Terlato Wines International on Tuesday, and the Mountain Village Wine Merchant returns with their free wine tastings on Wednesday. If you prefer to whip up your food yourself, the Telluride Farmers’ Market on Friday is the perfect place to get some local produce.
If history is more your thing, you can check out the Lone Tree Cemetery tours on Fridays (only two left), historic walking tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Fireside Chats on Wednesdays (Ernest House Jr. is tonight and Paul O’Rourke is next week) at the Madeline.
Other entertaining events this week include a free screening of “The Lockdown” at the Michael D. Palm Theatre on Friday (directed by Telluride’s own Ryan Jaeger), an Ancient Chain Weaving Demonstration at Slate Gray on Friday, Amy Helm performing at the Sheridan Opera House on Sunday, and live music at the farmers’ market with Warren Gilbreath on Friday.
There are also several events for good causes this week, including the Walk for Hope on Sunday, which is a walk and conversation for Suicide Awareness Month, and the Kevin Green Memorial Golf Tournament next Wednesday, which raises funds for the Lizard Head Hockey Club.
It’s hard to believe, but off-season is approaching. We’re working on putting together our fall off-season dining list… if you haven’t reached out to us with your schedule, please do so to be included! Check out our current list here.
