“The Dean’s List” is an unfiltered look into the lives of skiers who put skiing first in their lives.
The film is a glimpse into the life of an anonymous student, who choose skiing over all other activities while simultaneously studying for tests and turning in their homework on time. The main character claims they are not professional skiers but most people have been seen hiking up mountains or riding down slopes as children; thus making this sport familiar to them.
There aren’t any credits at all in this film because Cedar Palmer Films wanted viewers unfamiliar with these students’ identities just focus more heavily upon what’s important: namely some epic turns!
The film is directed by Cedar Palmer, a 23-year-old filmmaker who studied film production at University of Colorado Boulder and graduated from the university in 2021. The producer, twenty-two-year-old Finn Bailis, graduated from CU Boulder in spring 2022 and grew up with Cedar in Telluride, Colorado.
Cedar Palmer Films spent the ski season capturing the skiing. It tells about a group of local skiers who are students, bartenders or engineers that would give up anything just to ski.
