Time to ramp up those snow dances again, folks! The sunshine feels great, but we would love another round (or four) of snow before the season wraps up.
There are plenty of events to partake in this week, including several festivals! Gay Ski Week continues through Saturday with plenty of events for everyone to enjoy (full schedule here), and the Telluride Theatre’s Fringe Festival runs March 4 – 9 at the Michael D. Palm Theatre. There are seven different shows by local performers, and tickets can be purchased to each one individually.
Music lovers, rejoice – There are a lot of live bands around town this week. At The Alibi, catch the Grass Blasters on Friday, O’Connor Brothers Band on Saturday, Derek Frank Band on Sunday, The Elovaters on Monday, and Bright Light Social Hour on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Plus, Big Something will be jamming out on Friday and Saturday and Oh He Dead! will be performing a fundraiser show for KOTO next Wednesday at the Sheridan Opera House.
For those who like good food and drinks, there is also have a fun week ahead. Chef Chris Thompson and Chef Arnold Myint will be collaborating at The National tomorrow, there will be a free wine tasting next Wednesday at the Mountain Village Wine Merchant, and Tyler Simmons will be playing for apres at Communion Wine Bar on Thursdays. Plus, head to The View at Mountain Lodge on Saturday for Drag Brunch with Aria Pettyone.
Other notable events include Mind Blown at The Peaks on Friday and Saturday, a screening of A Real Pain at the Telluride Science and Innovation Center next Wednesday, and the Goose Chase Scavenger Hunt on Saturday (more information below).
If you’re looking to be involved in some meaningful discussions this week, be sure to check out a showing of the film Adaptation and a discussion surrounding wildfires in our community at the Sheridan Opera House as well as a coffee and climate conversation about tourism at the Wilkinson Public Library tomorrow.
